Reinhards Glacier Picturesr
It was a pretty adventures flight on April 1st 2001 on which my friend Reinhard pilot from Germany with over 1500 hours experience participated. Neither technical difficulties nor a very hard climb through deep snow after a short landing due to a strong downwind could trouble him.

Deepsnow landings on April 1st 2001 First look to the Alps in the front Lake Sempach
Approaching the northern mountain chains
Below the Kander ice field
The alpine peaks of the Valley, view to the South
Poor lightning on Wildhorn peak, almost no tracks recognizable
But on the Kander field they are pretty nice
I guess it`s perfect here
Of course we will land !
Short final to Kander Glacier
Our Piper Super Cub shortly before touch down
Due to a downwind I m to short and Reinhard has to walk for safety reasons...
...but now he is able to take a shot of my departure...
...and my landing further uphill and a onther circuit
It seems to bumpy for landing due to wind drifts on St. Pesers Ridge North part
We land on the South part beside the Kitfox HB-YGT
A break but not for the HB-OYB, because the batteries are down I dont stop the engine
I chat with Hansjörg pilot of the Kitfox and Guido pilot of the Super Cub HB-OPH
Reinhard and me posing in front of the Kitfox HB-YGT
Guido about to depart from St. Peters Ridge, we follow soon
The Alps of Freibourg No1      The Alps of Freiburg No2
Before landing at Saanen we fly over the famous village of Gstaad
